New G.I. Bill Now Open For Business

ARTICLE TOOLS

Good news for veterans interested in pursuing a college education: the new G.I. Bill is now accepting applications, meaning new and improved funding for military online schools and traditional schools alike.

Congressman Eric Massa announced that veterans of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq can now sign up for benefits from the New GI Bill. The GI Bill for the 21st Century helps restore the promise of a full, four-year college education for Iraq and Afghanistan veterans, making them part of the economic recovery.

That measure takes effect on August 1st, and as of right now, veterans can begin to apply for a certificate of eligibility for the new college benefits at the VA website http://www.gibill.va.gov/.

Not only will the new take on the bill allow extra funding for books and housing, but will be available for veterans to use up to 15 years after leaving the service. Are you eligible for these new benefits? Then check out an array of military online school choices at Get Degrees!
